Used in the foundry and forge industry, the Wheelabrator Group, Italy Tumblast machine is particularly suitable for the blast treatment of medium or large-sized products (e.g., brake disks, brake drums, flanged fittings) and when an in-line installation is required. Pieces for blasting move continuously from a feeding conveyor provided by the customer to the feeding vibrating conveyor of the tumblast machine. They are then transferred into the blasting section, where they are completely blasted on all surfaces through the blasting wheels positioned on the roof of the cabinet and continuously tumbled by the work conveyor, which also assures optimal shot drainage. Cleaned pieces are transferred onto the unloading vibrating conveyor, drained, and unloaded onto a customer conveyor. No manpower is required for the loading and unloading operations.
The main components are: feeding and unloading vibrating conveyor; work conveyor (with in-and out-feed drums of manganese steel plates, and "T" section slats manufactured in wear-resist steel); blasting compartment made of manganese steel plates, fully protected by special cast hard alloy plates manufactured in our own foundry); blast wheels equipped with forward curved vanes that deliver a more evenly distributed abrasive concentration; magnetic valves for the automatic adjustment of abrasive flow via PLC, based in the actual flow of pieces; abrasive handling and reclamation system, including lower scalping deck, abrasive elevator, and magnetic separator; dust collector; noise abatement panels; and electric panel with PLC and panel view.
